Pompeii unveils new mysteries, architectures and painted walls suggests a structure close to the famous Villa of the Mysteries.

In 79 A.D. an eruption of Vesuvius destroyed Pompeii and Herculaneum. Today the cities and their citizens remained exactly as they had, frozen in time under layers of ash for over a thousand years.

Excavations of Pompeii began accidentally in the 18th century when builders constructing a palace for the Bourbon king discovered the lost city while digging.

When the remains of a young woman were found in 1777, the excavators noticed they could clearly see the outline of the rest of her body in the ash that had encased her.

Many of the victims remain frozen in contorted positions, some had been trying to shield their faces with their hands, one mother was found desperately trying to shield her child.

A discovery has been made in a large crypto portico in a new dig at Pompeii. The discovery, just to the north of the Roman city, is part of a large and refined complex dating back to the time of Emperor Augustus, a mural depicting a flower was found white and the name Mummy, which belonged to a little girl mysteriously called 'Mummy'.

Who she was, and why her name was found written on the wall of the villa, it will be up to the archaeologists to establish it.
