You will get to know the ancient city of Herculaneum, a small coastal town in Campania, halfway between Naples and Pompeii. Legend attributes the foundation of Herculaneum to Hercules. With the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD the city was completely submerged by the volcanic mud river that poured out. The ash mixed with the water that has solidified has determined an absolutely original conservation phenomenon that has allowed us to return finds of organic vegetables, fabrics, furnishings and parts of wooden buildings but also the upper floors of the buildings.

Finally, this tour is recommended for people who want to hike to the top of the most famous volcano in the world: Vesuvius. The visit to the crater is among the most requested excursions by tourists. The route to be covered has a total length of about 4 km round trip, with a drop of about 140 meters and an average gradient of 14% up to the maximum altitude of 1,170 meters above sea level. We will take you to the office ticket at 1,050 meters above sea level, from here begins a narrow path from which it is already possible to admire the majesty of Vesuvius. Through a broom path you reach a small climb dotted with maritime pines and birches and then you reach the edge of the crater where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Naples.
